Gavin Cancio is a 2021 SS/RHP, IF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends St. Brendan. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.31 seconds. Hits from upright, narrow-based stance with leg lift trigger, solid bat speed on line drive plane, wants to lift the ball, shows intent and extension through stroke, will continue driving the ball more and more as he gains strength. Primary infielder, athletic look, moves to both sides well and shows sure, easy hand actions, fields cleanly and maintains balance, clocked up to 84 mph on throws. Threw 86 mph from the outfield. Also pitched, coils back over rubber to load, small arm stroke to high 3/4 slot, fastball worked 75-79 mph with extension through release, showed curveball with gradual depth, changeup is good pitch with fade. Very good student.
