Zack Anderson is a 2006 OF/P from Ventura HS, residing in Ventura, CA, with a 5'11", 160 lb. frame. He has an athletic and wiry body type, suggesting that his good present day abilities will continue to improve with physical maturity. Anderson hits with a closed stance and shows good bat speed. Overall he has a quiet hitting approach without a lot of wasted motion. He is a spray type hitter and his hands work well to and through contact. Anderson works to get extension in his swing and easily gets to the pull side. He has a solid defensive approach and sets up to the ball well. He plays the ball on the correct side of his body and is in position to make his throw when he fields the ball. Anderson makes low arc, one-hop throws and showed to be an accurate thrower. He has a strong arm and the ball exits his hand well. He is a strong defensive player. On the mound Anderson demonstrates good body control and an athletic delivery. He pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot and has a clean arm stroke on the backside. His fastball (80-84) is sneaky with good arm side run. Anderson has good command of his curveball (67-70), which has rolling action and some depth. He keeps the change-up (77) down and generally has a good feel for the ball. With an arm that works well and some innate athleticism, Anderson is a follow as a two-way prospect for some programs. He is a good baseball player.
