Jake Wolfe is a 2018 C/1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Campo Verde HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders, long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout with additional strength. Primary catcher, pops out of crouch and gets upright at release, gains short ground with lower half, tight and compact release, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy to the bag, longer release, arm strength will continue to develop with continued use of lower half. Righthanded hitter, begins with a very wide base and high hand set and back elbow in the box. Even stance, stays short to the ball and shows bat speed through the zone. Occasionally gets to front side early, full swing through contact and shows nice carry and strength off the barrel when squared. Best strength to pull side, quick hands, nice tools that project moving forward. Good student.
