Hecniel Rodriguez is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from Cidra, PR who attends Escuela Especializada en baseball. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build and wiry strength. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.85 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with aggressive footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange quickly. Maintained momentum to target and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Displayed present arm strength creating stiff, accurate carry to the bag at 90 mph. Left handed hitter with an upright, open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Looks to stays behind the baseball at contact while employing a mid field approach. Flashed the ability to turn the barrel to contact and work to pull side as well when on time. Good student.
