Josh Pyne is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Bloomfield, IN who attends Linton-Stockton. Medium athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. 6.79 runner in the sixty, fields the ball cleanly out front with soft hands, very good arm strength with carry across the diamond, has a quick transfer and release on his throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a leg lift trigger, repeats his timing well, quick hands getting the barrel going, gets extended well through contact with some lift out front, fluid swing that will keep improving as he fills out. Also pitched, high energy delivery with some recoil, good arm speed from a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 90 mph with good heavy sink at the plate, sweeping slow curveball. Threw strikes and had a quick inning. Very good student, verbal commitment to Indiana.
