Brett Tivnan is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Hingham, MA who attends IMG Academy. Large-XL frame with excellent present build and remaining projection for more physical strength on body. Hits from narrow stance with high hand set, line drive swing plane with good hand quickness, strength off the barrel with more coming. Can be a bit rigid through swing mechanics. Swing has some lift with projectable power. Fields the ball cleanly in the OF, gets on top of the ball and throws accurately with online carry to 3B and home. Quick twitch athlete with good, projectable defensive tools. On the mound, shows balanced delivery with good hip rotation, slight spine tilt with longer arm action up to high 3/4 slot. Gets downhill well, FB worked 82-84, topping at 86 with good life to arm side. Will show ability to cut the FB at times. CB shows good 12/6 shape with depth and bite, quart weapon pitch to miss bats with. Very good student.
