Mark DeCicco is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Windermere, FL who attends Olympia HS. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Primary left handed pitcher with a simple rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side with slight hip coil at gather. Worked to the plate with drop and drive actions while landing in line with the plate on front side. Clean arm circle at take back and released from an over top arm slot. Fastball generated good downhill plane through the zone in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 miles per hour. Displayed good feel for fastball with the ability to work to each edge of the plate. Curveball showed 1/7 shape with big downward depth in the low 60's. Also worked out defensively from first base showing clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front. Works to a taller gather while working through exchange and released from a loose arm action. Produced accurate carry across the infield topping at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Stays balanced while employing a simple, repeatable line drive barrel plane. Showed good strength at contact when squared with the ability to produce tight back spin to the gaps. Excellent student. Named to the 2018 Fall Academic Showcase, Top Prospect List.
