Austin Young is a 2019 SS/2B with a 5-6 130 lb. frame from Southside, AL who attends Etowah HS. Smaller slender build, young look. Right handed hitter, straight stance with a late load, good shift into contact, aggressive swing approach and attacks the ball well, has a feel for the barrel and hits the ball to all fields, will get a bit long at times as part of his aggressiveness, should continue to improve as he adds strength and size. 7.09 runner, uses his speed well on the bases and moving to the ball on defense. Charged the ball well and looks best defensively on the move where he can use his athleticism and quickness, lower arm slot with some young arm strength. Plays with energy and has some instincts on the field for his age. Just a matter of getting bigger and stronger. Very good student.
