Jake Guggenheimer is a 2016 C/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Great Neck, NY who attends Great Neck North. Medium, athletic build with a projectable build and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives out front and shows a quick transfer into throws, full arm action with a lower slot release, accurate throws to the bag with solid footwork popping out of crouch. Small crow hop at beginning of throws from outfield, collects well at ball, quick release and gets on top of throws with accuracy to the bag. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a medium hand set. Upper body swing, shows a short path to the ball with occasional lift at contact. Shows a feel for the barrel and has ability to create backspin while creating consistent contact with comfort to go to the opposite field. Excellent student.
