Robert Wegielnik is a 2018 RHP/SS, IF, OF, UT with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Fort Myers, FL who attends Cypress Lake HS. Athletic overall frame with room to add physicality to the build. Good speed and has recorded a 6.90 second 60-yard dash in the past. Primary righthanded pitcher with a very athletic and fluid delivery. Threw from a three-quarter arm slot from a very loose and whippy arm action. The fastball was up to 87 mph with good, natural run on the pitch. Pounded the strike zone and mixed all of his pitches well. Can manipulate breaking pitches well including a curveball that flashed plus potential. The pitch had tight spin and sharp bite. Slider had more horizontal movement to it with break as well. Utilizes lower half nicely and gets good push off the mound. Lots of swing and miss on his stuff throughout the performance; high ceiling. Secondary infielder with good arm quickness. Hands work well and showed deliberate actions. Also worked out from the outfield with a shorter rm action. Has good arm strength with carry on throws. Righthanded hitter with a big leg lift trigger into contact. Linear weight shift through the lower half that worked well. Generates good bat speed and jump off the barrel when the foot gets down on time. High-level two-way prospect. Named to the 2017 Florida Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
