Devin Beard is a 2016 SS/2B with a 6-0 145 lb. frame from Hobbs, NM who attends Hobbs. Large, athletic frame with a lean, projectable and room to fill out with strength. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows agile and athletic actions, sound footwork, accurate arm with carry across the infield, hands play, arm strength will continue to develop. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and back elbow, slightly open base. Wrapped start, shows a short path to the ball, upper half swing, has the ability to barrel the ball up to all fields while showing bat speed and a fluid swing plane. Easy swing mechanics which he repeats well. Good student.
