Matthew Allred is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Panama City Beach, FL who attends J.R. Arnold HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a well proportioned frame. Strong runner, posted a 6.87 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows a long arm action with good carry on throws when on top, nice arm strength and carry with solid actions through the ball and projects for more strength. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a short and quick arm action coming through the backside. Stays tall over the rubber and gets on top of the ball well, generating downhill plane on fastball, topping 83 mph with nice life. Good feel for a sharp 12-6 curveball with tight spin and nice depth. Right-handed hitter, starts with a crouched stance and a medium hand set. Upper body swing, shows a sound approach in the box with a short path and quick swing coming through the zone. Has feel for the barrel, creates pull side contact and strength projects with incorporation of lower half. Outstanding student.
