Kyle Ayers is a 2018 2B/SS/OF with a 5-9 153 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends Union Grove HS. Compact frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.1 sixty-yard dash. Primary second baseman with athletic footwork while moving to and through the baseball. Funnels out front and shows the glove fluidity to manipulate actions while on the run. Released from a three-quarters slot producing accurate, on line carry across the infield at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and sweeping leg lift trigger. Shifts into contact with linear lower half actions. Compact, direct path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Consistently produced sharp line drive contact while employing a mid field approach. Consistently repeated actions with the barrel control to reach all parts off the hitting zone. Also pitched utilizing a compact, high three-quarters arm action. Fastball generated some downhill plane through the zone with cut topping at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with early break out of hand in the upper 60's. Also showed good feel for a knuckleball offering that had some flutter with sink in the low 70's. Worked to all quadrants of the zone effectively and induced weak contact. Excellent student as well.
