John Marti is a 2016 3B/SS with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Saint James, NY who attends Smithtown East. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and nice present strength throughout build. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, moves well on feet and stays balanced charging in, full arm action with an over the top slot and quick release, accurate throws and shows strength, solid actions with glove. Left-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set and back elbow. Upper body swing, short and direct path to the ball, line drive swing plane and shows a patient approach. Strength shows coming off the barrel with jump to pull side, best feel and contact is to right field with solid contact. Very good student.
