Liam Heath is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-5 180 lb. frame from Naperville, IL who attends Naperville Central. Long, lean build with broad shoulder, will continue to fill. Quick arm with shorter 3/4 arm actions, showed best stuff from an extended 3/4 slot. Easy effort delivery with projection. Fastball explodes at the plate with very good arm side life, runs in effectively to right handed hitters. Fastball ranged from 81-84 mph, topped at 85 mph. Curveball showed 10/4 slurve shape with sharp movement and good bite with depth. Very good feel for pitch, topped at 69 mph with curveball. Changeup has good velo seperation and arm speed deception with fading action, topped at 75 mph. Flashes command of entire arsenal. Command slightly lags from stretch with a tendency to leave the ball up in zone at times. Slightly open stance and toe tap trigger at the plate. Exaggerates hand load while creating coil with the top half. Barrel has a efficent path to ball when on time. Line drive, ground ball approach to mid field. Physical projection at first base. Smooth footwork and glove actions on goundballs out front. Quick arm action with accuracy and solid arm strength topping at 77 mph across. Project as a pitcher. Good student as well.
