Jason Ghent is a 2017 OF/1B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Plant High School. Long, lean build with an athletic frame that has lots of room to continue to develop and add strength. Posted a very impressive 6.52 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, worked well through the ball with a short arm action and a quick release. At the plate, started with a wide, open base with a high hand set. Hands get to a good spot at the start of the swing with present bat speed and some jump off the barrel. Swing occasionally gets long with an inconsistent barrel path with developing timing that should improve. Very good student.
