Patrick Callaghan is a 2016 C/3B, 1B, RHP with a 5-10 210 lb. frame from High Point, NC who attends Southwest Guilford. Strong, medium build with broad shoulders and nice strength in his lower half. Ran a 7.80 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows accuracy on throws down to second base, receives the ball out front, gets tall at release at times, best pop was 2.01 and will continue to lower with incorporation of lower half. Also pitched, shows a fast arm action coming through the back side, high three-quarter release with a full arm action coming through the back side. Mechanics are smooth and easy, fastball topped at 74 mph and showed a feel for his changeup at 67 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and shows a patient approach. Full swing with fluidity coming through the zone, upper body swing with loud contact coming off the barrel. Quick hands, shows best strength to pull side. God student.
