Jacob Ruiz is a 2023 RHP/2B, 3B, OF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Jersey City, NJ who attends County Prep. Tall frame with long limbs and lots of room to fill. The infielder has fluid and loose actions through his approach to the ball. Athletic and the arm plays on the left side, it carries well. A right-handed hitter, uses a slightly open stance with quick hands and good barrel speed through the zone. Good carry to the pull side. Also a righthanded pitcher who pitched from the stretch only. Simple leg lift that helped repeat his foot strike. Loose arm action and 3/4 release that generates plane and arm side run. Good shape to the breaker that should develop into a tight slider with added reps. Some fade to the change up to make a solid three pitch mix. Held velocity and has very good upside. Very good student.
