Tyler Hodella is a 2022 1B/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Miller Place, NY who attends Miller Place. Medium and projectable frame with room to continue to fill out physically. Ran an 8.59 second 60 yard dash. Primary first baseman, worked out at first with some body control fielding the baseball out in front, showed a quick transfer to his hand and a compact arm action into throws, accurate arm with deliberate turns to second base, topped out at 72 mph from first base. Secondary righthanded pitcher, pitches from a quick windup that starts with a side step, takes his arm back to a similar compact arm action as at first base up to an extended 3/4 arm slot, lands on a firm front leg and creates uphill carry to his pitches to the plate, topped out at 73 mph with his fastball on the mound with a developing low-60s curveball. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a wide base and a high hand set, uses a high leg lift into contact, long swing plane with rotational actions, works hands around the baseball with a pull side approach. Good student.
