2005 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Ryan Holland is a 2007 2B/SS from Northview HS in Duluth, GA, with a 5'11'', 158 lb. frame. He has some wiry strength to his lean build. Holland ran the 60 in 7.34 and threw 79 mph during infield drills. He showed plus flexability and agility on defense with quick feet and a good release and clean arm action. He got in front of balls well and made the plays at second base. Offensively, Holland has an open stance with good rhythm to the ball and quick hands. He generates nice bat speed with a line drive swing plane. Holland was quick to the inside pitch and had the bat speed to take pitches over the plate and hit them hard and into the gaps. He has very good overall balance at the plate and makes consistent hard contact. He looks like a high average hitter who is going to get some balls into the gaps. Holland is a good looking young hitter who can handle second base defensively at the next level as well. He projects well athletically and should continue to improve. Good follow. Holland is also a very good student.
