Alex Rose is a 2017 OF/C/RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Barrington, IL who attends Barrington HS. Taller, skinny frame with some physical projection left on the build. Primary outfielder, clean fielding ability with developing arm strength. Releases over the top and throws were accurate and online. Secondary catcher and showed actions behind the plate with clean transfers and releases. Small stride at the plate with some feel for connecting on line drives. Stands slightly open with a medium hand set. Showed quickness in the hands and hit the ball to all fields. Up the middle approach with the ability to generate hard contact off the barrel of the bat with a clean hand path to the ball.
