Carlos Maldonado is a 2017 OF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends Somerset Academy Charter. Lean and compact athletic build, has some present strength, quick twitch athlete. 6.76 runner, shows his athleticism well in the outfield, works well through the ball with good fundamental footwork and glove position, good arm strength with lots of on line carry, centerfield tools on defense. Right handed hitter, balanced straight stance with a leg raise trigger, has quick hands and has some bat speed, line drive approach, hits to all fields and looks like a high average hitter who squares the ball up often. Makes up for in tools and quickness what he lacks in size. Very good student.
