Christopher Alvarez is a 2017 C/RHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Pflugerville, TX who attends Hendrickson. Medium frame with an athletic build, room to fill out as he gets stronger. Behind the plate, quick transfer with strong, online throws to the bases that showed good carry. Very quick actions and stays low while receiving. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base, high hands and a small leg lift trigger. Alvarez swings on a line drive swing plane and looks to hit balls back up the middle of the field. Has a good feel for the barrel. On the mound, throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with long arm action. Does a nice job of repeating mechanics and consistently throwing strikes. Named to Top Prospect List.
