David Valuja is a 2018 OF/C with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends Everglades. Medium frame with athletic, projectable present build. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.99 seconds. Sets up to hit with leaned back stance, leg lift with hip coil into load, hands stay close to body throughout swing, showed bat speed on line drive plane, worked back through the middle well. Did a good job sinking hips into contact and squaring the ball up on a line relatively consistently. Worked out in the outfield, moves well to the ball and fields cleanly through it, compact and quick arm stroke, clocked up to 85 mph. Pitched as well, takes short stride downhill, short and quick arm stroke to three quarters arm slot, fastball worked 78-81 mph with some sink. Showed knuckleball, good tumbling action, has feel for the pitch. Good student.
