Eric Santiago is a 2016 SS with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Bethlehem, PA who attends Notre Dame. Large, athletic build with loose limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to add strength. Quick twitch muscle on frame, ran a 6.85 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet with soft backhands actions, gets on top of throws, solid arm strength and carry across the diamond with smooth, athletic actions overall. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and high hand set. Short swing to the ball with quick hands and extension out front through the ball. Line drive swing plane and contact to all fields, shifts weight through lower half well and stays balanced in swing. Patient approach with a nice feel for the barrel. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
