LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2007 National Showcase
Adrian Nieto is a 2008 C/1B with a 6'0'', 195 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends American Heritage HS. He has a strong, mature build with square shoulders and thick hips. Nieto didn't catch at the PG National as he is recovering from an arm injury but he was named an Aflac All-American based on his tools and performance over the course of the last few years. Nieto did hit and that's one of his best tools. He's a switch hitter with power bat speed from both sides of the plate. Nieto is a fluid hitter who looks like he has a long swing at times until you see him handle 90+ mph velocity with ease. He has explosive hands at the ball and stays inside the ball very well, especially when he's not trying to lift it too much. Nieto would be a prospect at any position because of his bat. He has prospect level defensive tools that we've seen frequently in the past. Nieto is a polished, savvy baseball player with very good instincts and he plays to win. He has a verbal commitment to South Florida. Selected to 2007 Aflac All-American team.
