Bennett Shell is a 2018 OF/ with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Pace, FL who attends Pace. Medium frame with athletic, highly projectable build. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.77 seconds. Hits with leg lift timing mechanism and really gets hips moving into swing, generates torque with lower half, turns the barrel well out in front and showed the ability to drive the baseball to the pull field. Attacks the ball out front and has strength in swing. Moves well to the ball in the outfield, fields cleanly through the ball and has very quick release with accuracy to target up to 80 MPH. Shows solid actions in the infield as well, gathering cleanly after fielding and showing good balance, clocked up to 81 MPH across. Pitched as well, lifts hands and front leg in synch into windup, slight crossfire delivery with shorter arm action with varying arm slots. Will throw from traditional 3/4 slot as well as sidearm slot. Fastball worked 76-80 MPH with good angle to the plate, sidearm FB has good arm side life. Showed slider with 10/4 shape with some sharpness. Uses legs well in delivery. Very good student.
