Luke Van Rycheghem is a 2016 C/3B/1B with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Kent Bridge, ON who attends Bridgeton HS. Extra big and strong build, fairly mature physically. Sound defensive tools and fundamentals, has lower half flexibility for his size and can get low and shift well, consistent footwork and throwing/blocking mechanics, good arm strength and makes very accurate throws due to his footwork, 1.96 best pop time, received well in the games with strong hands. Left handed hitter, tall and open stance, closes and moves into contact well, long and extended swing, dips his backside a bit creating some lift out front, has strength and can drive the ball on his pitch, creates top spin at times. Good student.
