Jamaiz Hunt is a 2016 SS/OF with a 5-8 167 lb. frame from Lumberton, NC who attends Pine Forest HS. Medium build, projectable compact frame with long limbs. Solid athlete, ran a 6.98 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well, shows good range in the infield and has smooth actions and soft hands. Developing arm strength with longer release, has strong defensive potential. Right handed hitter, narrow setup to medium length stride, inconsistent timing with front foot, but when on time shows very solid hitting tools. Has solid bat speed and strength within frame, shows a loose swing with the ability to get extended. Middle of the field approach, sprays line drives to gaps and projects well going forward. Very good student.
