Austin Vetter is a 2018 C with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Olympia HS. Large frame with an athletic build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Ran a 6.93 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a balanced, athletic stance. Soft hands while receiving the baseball and gains ground to the bag with clean footwork. Fluid glove circle while exchanging and released from a compact arm slot. Topped at 74 miles per hour creating accurate on line carry to the bag, best workout pop time of 1.94. Right handed hitter with a balanced, slightly open stance. Created some shift into contact with rotational lower half actions. Direct hand path to contact with a level, line drive plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout with present bat speed and strength at contact. Turns the barrel to contact and created hard, loud contact to all fields throughout batting practice. Named to the 2017 National Academic Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
