Chase Chandler is a 2017 RHP/ with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Mount Airy, NC who attends North Surry. Large frame with long limbs and a lean build. Shows wiry strength throughout build. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced side step to leg lift delivery. Stays flexed on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Long arm circle while working to separation and released from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Swung front side at times but was able to maintain in line direction to the plate and carry momentum through finish. Fastball showed solid running action to arm side in the mid 80's, topped at 86 miles per hour. Curveball had 9/4 sweeping shape with good rotational and some late tilt in the mid 70's. Also flashed a very deceptive arm action with a changeup offering that had some fade to arm side. Changeup became a very dependable pitch when able to work ahead early in counts with fastball. Outstanding student. Committed to the Liberty.
