Garrett Liebe is a 2017 C/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Chapel Hill, NC who attends Chapel Hill. Medium frame with lean, athletic present build and good room on body to continue filling out. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.56 seconds. Hits with leg lift trigger, balanced stance/start, shows quick hands generating solid bat speed to and through the hitting zone. Middle-to-opposite field approach with line drive swing plane, swing can get long at times when trying to generate extra lift, quality overall bat path with consistent, line drive contact ability. Shows quality actions in the outfield, moves to ball well with quick twitch athleticism, fields cleanly and shows excellent arm strength up to 85 MPH to 3B and home. Caught as well, with solid lateral agility and receiving skills behind the plate, highly projectable frame for catcher position, solid footwork with quick arm stroke and release, popped as low as 2.08 seconds. Good student.
