Toby Scoles is a 2017 LHP/OF/1B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Elbert, CO who attends Pine Creek HS. Scoles has a medium sized frame with a lean build and broad shoulders. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He gets a good hip turn at balance point and throws across his body. Scoles pitches to contact and works down with his fastball. He pitches gets some cut action on his fastball and creates some angles on hitters with his fastball. He throws a 1/7 curve ball with developing shape and spin to it. At the plate, Scoles starts with a slightly open stance with a leg lift trigger. He has a rotational swing with an aggressive swing path. Scoles looks to drive the ball to his pullside and has some bat speed. Defensively, he throws from a long arm action with an upright finish. He has arm strength up to 77 MPH from the outfield with developing actions. Outstanding student.
