Cristian Diaz is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 6-0 201 lb. frame from Philadelphia, PA who attends Franklin Towne Charter. Large frame with a strong build with present strength. Right handed hitter with straight stance and higher hand/ back elbow set. Shows a short, compact path to contact with an uphill swing plane. Present bat speed with strength and a mid-field approach. Tends to make contact deeper in the zone off back side that produces carry to alleys. Worked out defensively from the outfield showing shorter steps while transitioning through the baseball. Works over front side while fielding baseball and throws with a full arm action through the back side. Creates solid carry out of hand with developing accuracy, topped at 83 mph to bag. Body projects well and with continue to develop with fluidity. Good student as well.
