Raleigh Pigg is a 2017 SS/3B, RHP, OF with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Anchorage, AK who attends Service. Large frame with long limbs and a lean, athletic build. Shows wiry strength throughout frame with plenty of room for additional strength. Ran a 7.43 sixty yard dash. Primary shortstop with athletic, fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Clean, smooth paced exchanges while working through transition. Flashed extended range when working to glove hand side. Releases from a three-quarters arm slot creating accurate on line carry across, topping at 85 mph. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing clean, athletic actions while closing to baseball. Deliberate, clean glove actions while picking up baseball and working through transfer. Generates good momentum while working into throws with plus arm strength and carry from the outfield, topped at 89 mph. Right handed hitter with a spread, straight stance. Lower half shows some linear actions with shift into contact. Line drive swing plane that produces solid leverage through extention. Consistently squared up contact throughout batting practice with a balanced, mid-field approach. Flashed solid bat speed and strength at contact, produced good carry to the gaps when squared. Also pitched showing a tall set into a small, side step delivery. Creates some coil at balance showing back pocket. Creates good downhill angle with a fastball from a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashes some sinking action when located down in the zone ranging in the mid 80's, topped at 86 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with tight spin and late depth in the low 70's. Flashed a change up with very deceptive arm speed in the low 70's. Changeup flashed solid fading actions with occasional run. Shows a good feel for all three pitches, effectively changing speeds as outing continued. Consistently missed barrels and induced weak, ground ball contact. Good two way prospect. Good student. Named to 2016 West Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
