Lalo Beron is a 2018 C/3B, 1B with a 6-1 178 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Chaminade College Preparatory. Large frame with a solid, athletic build. Has present strength throughout with projection for more with maturity. Ran a 7.95 sixty. Primary catcher, showed a slight side set stance while receiving. Soft hands while receiving with quick, clean exchanges while working through baseball. Gains some ground out of crouch and quickly releases from a compact arm action. Throws created solid downhill angle to the bag with accurate carry. Topped at 75 mph with a best workout pop time of 1.97. Right handed hitter with a narrow, upright stance. Lower half launches with rotational actions creating slight shift into contact. Stays balanced throughout with a level, line drive swing path. Creates good extenstion out front, consistently squaring up contact throughout batting practice. Flashed bat speed with some jump off the barrel when working to the gaps. Handles the barrel well throughout the zone driving the baseball to the oppsite field as well. Outstanding student.
