Ben Burgess is a 2008 C/RHP/OF from Brentwood HS in Brentwood, TN with a 5'11", 185 lb. frame. Ben has an athletic build and showed good arm strength behind the plate. (75) At the plate Ben has an aggressive approach where he shows good present strength with quick hands. The ball jumps off Ben's bat well, but he doesnt always get alot of lower half involved in his swing. With more lower half Ben would see much more consistent hard contact. Behind the plate Ben has a quick release to go along with good arm strength. There is no reason he can't get his pop times lower than they already are. In a brief pitching outing Ben showed a solid CB and the ability to be a productive high school pitcher. Ben showed a good set of raw tools and will be a mid-level college player.
