Cody Schowen is a 2017 SS/ with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Fontana, CA who attends Etiwanda. Medium frame with slender, athletic present build; body projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.47 seconds. Sets up to hit from slightly open, slightly crouched stance with wide base. Compact hand path with inside-out approach, stays committed to the middle of the field and is comfortable working the opposite way as well. Line drive swing plane through the zone, does a good job getting hips involved. Worked out defensively in the infield. Shows quality footwork with range to both sides, surrounds the ball and funnels it cleanly out front. Smooth hand actions into smooth transfer, shows good accuracy across the diamond on throws, clocked up to 79 MPH. Very good student.
