Luis Antonio Santiago Escalera is a 2017 LHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Carolina, PR who attends Colegio La Piedad. Medium athletic build, has some present strength. Full hands over head delivery, high 3/4's arm action, lands about 6" closed on his front side and gets very good angle to the plate, repeats his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, most fastballs have very good cutting action, some have almost slider depth cut to them. Will take off on the cutter for a true slider effect as well. Curveball has tight spin and good depth as well. Spins the ball very well and has feel for it. Can be effective at the next level with just a bit more velocity.
