Jake Marquez is a 2020 SS/3B, OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Christopher Columbus. Large frame with an athletic, projectable build. Ran a 7.16 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Moves with athletic strides through the ball and towards the target. Clean hands when fielding with quick and precise exchanges. Gets the ball out quick with good carry to the bag at 85 MPH. Righthanded hitter with a spread and even stance. Utilizes a simple leg lift trigger load. Rotational lower half with balance throughout swing. Some looseness to path through a slightly lifted barrel plane. Creates jump to the pull side when turning the barrel and impacting the baseball out in front. Excellent student as well. Named to the 2019 Sunshine Showcase Top Prospect.
