Nicholas Barendrick is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Saguaro HS. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves to the ball well and stays low fielding, fields the ball out front, shows balance going up the middle, upright release, full arm action with a lower slot at release, accurate throws across. Also pitched, long arm action through the back working to a low three-quarters arm slot. Front side goes early at times but arm actions is loose, shows running life to fastball from slot topping 76 mph. Up-tempo delivery, throws three pitches for strikes including 11-5 curveball with short depth. Righthanded hitter, begins with a square stance and wrapped to bat with slight movement. Small leg lift trigger, gets the barrel through the zone well, short path to the ball with a short finish through it. Shows ability to get extended out front with nice jump when squared off the barrel. Moves well down the line. Excellent student.
