Jordan Medina is a 2018 C/RHP, 1B, IF, OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Lone Tree, CO who attends Highlands Ranch. Large frame with broad shoulders and present strength. Ran a 7.39 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a slightly higher, event stance while setting up to receive. Gains grounds while working out of crouch with quick, athletic footwork. Developing fluidity while working through exchange and released from a compact arm slot. Throws generated stiff, on line carry to the bag topping at 81 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 1.87. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and sweeping leg lift trigger. Good shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Direct, compact path to contact while a naturally leveraged plane through extension. Swung with intent and produced consistent, hard line drive contact between the gaps. Also pitched showing a compact three-quarters arm slot, flashed good arm whip through extension. Stays balanced on back side at gather generating slight coil over back leg. Stays in line while driving to the plate and carries momentum through finish. Fastball had slight running action to arm side sitting in the mid 80's, topped at 86 miles per hour. Slider had 11/5 shape with tight spin and short tilt to glove side in the mid to upper 70's. Aggressively attacked the zone with both pitches inducing weak, ground ball contact. Good student.
