Javon Compton is a 2021 OF/SS with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Fayetteville, GA who attends Whitewater. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 6.97 seconds. Hits from slightly open stance, compact hand path through the zone, creates middle/opposite field approach, line drive swing plane, shows good contact skills, will improve as he gains strength. Worked out in two spots, primarily an outfielder. Moves well in the outfield, quick feet with good balance and gather, stays balanced, fields cleanly and works through the ball, clocked up to 80 mph on throws. Also took infield reps, shows good range with athletic movements and overall actions, clocked up to 74 mph on throws. Very good student.
