Jared Jones is a 2022 C/1B with a 6-5 230 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Walton. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned extremely well throughout. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate, shows balance in crouch, receives the ball out front and shows softness to his hands, fuller arm stroke on throws, big arm strength and carry to second base, threw out 3 runners in live action, simple catch and throw skills with consistent accuracy. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; aggressive weight shift moving into contact, occasionally gets to front side early. Plus bat speed through the zone, incorporates physical strength extremely well with leverage at point of contact, can drive to all parts of the field. Shows some balance in set up, will only continue to unlock additional strength with further timing. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Louisiana State.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
