Stanton Leuthner is a 2019 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B, MIF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Summit, NJ who attends New Providence. Medium frame with an athletic build. Projects for additional size and strength with continued maturity. Ran a 7.33 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with smooth paced, fundamentally sound footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front well and works though transition with clean glove to hand exchanges. Flashed the ability to change arm action while on the run and produce accurate throws across the infield, topped at 77 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple leg leg lift trigger. Simple, repeatable path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Created some lift through the zone when attacking out front and working to pull side. Produced solid bat speed with strength at contact that created good carry to the gaps when squared. Also pitched showing a large rock step delivery to medium leg lift. Flashed some arm quickness through extension with a high energy three-quarters slot. Fastball had occasional running action to arm side with some downhill plane in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/4 shape with loose spin and some sweeping to glove side in the upper 60's. Also flashed a changeup with some sink in the low 70's. Consistently filled the zone while challenge hitters with fastball early in counts. Outstanding student.
