Corey Caldwell is a 2019 3B/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Douglasville, GA who attends Douglas County. Medium frame with a high waist. Ran a 7.19 second 60 yard dash. Primary third baseman, took reps in the infield sitting back on the baseball, bends at the waist to gather the ball, footwork is still developing to and through the funnel, makes a quick transfer from his glove to his hand, quick arm into throws with average arm strength, topped out at 80 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, begins windup with a short side step up to a big and high leg lift, compact and online arm stroke through the back hiding the ball well up to a high 3/4 arm slot, carries his momentum toward the plate with good direction and follow through, fastball topped out at 78 mph with frequent cutting action to the offering, mixed in a 12-to-6 curveball with good shape while shortening the arm path when releasing the offering, flashed a developing changeup. Righthanded hitter, wide base with a high hand set and a high back elbow to start, leg lift trigger to begin swing, long swing path with some inconsistencies to barrel plane, opposite field approach, will improve with additional strength and refinement to bat path.
