Connor Grotyohann is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Stockholm, NJ who attends Wallkill Valley Reg. Large from with long limbs and present strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Medium leg lift and stays flexed on back side at gather. Works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Lands in line with front side and carries momentum to the plate well. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a mid three-quarters arm slot. Displayed good feel for fastball offering with occasional run to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 mph. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with curveball offering showing 10/5 shape with solid depth. Also worked out defensively from first base showing clean, fluid actions while surrounding and funneling the baseball. Moves off the bag well and released from a three-quarters arm slot, topped at 82 mph. At the plate, displayed present bat speed and strength through the zone with a linear barrel plane. Primarily looked to drive the baseball with intent and generated loud, hard carry off the barrel when squared.
