Reed Purcell is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Wesleyan. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for more. 6.80 runner in the sixty. Has good athletic actions in the outfield with a clean gather out front and the ability to stay on top of the ball and create carry on his throws, sound defensive fundamentals. Right handed hitter, hits form a slightly open stance with a simple and repeatable timer and trigger, made very consistent hard barrel contact, line drive swing plane, gets some jump off the barrel with more to come as he continues to get stronger, looks to pull the ball. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a high energy delivery and a high 3/4's arm slot. Worked mostly at 79-80 mph with his fastball for two innings with some flat running life, also threw a soft slider from a lower arm slot, did a good job of throwing strikes. Good student. Named to the Summer Main Event Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
