Chris Field is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 6-0 158 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Monsignor Farrell HS. Medium build with long limbs, projectable frame with room to fill throughout and time to do so. Ran a 7.70 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, works exclusively from the stretch, leg lift to belt line, high hand separation, clean and loose arm action to a high 3/4 arm slot, gets downhill pretty well, lands on stiff front leg, would like to see get out over front leg more consistently, decent command that will get better with development, repeated mechanics well. Fastball is mostly straight but flashed some cutting action, worked mostly to armside with fastball, mixed in a curveball that showed more bite as the game went on, flashed a developing changeup, fastball topped out at 80 mph. Also took reps in the outfield, deliberate actions, fields ball to the side, long arm action to a sidearm slot into throws, lots of air under throws, would like to see ball released out front for more online carry, developing arm strength topping out at 73 mph from the outfield. Righthanded hitter, slightly open stance, leg lift trigger, linear bat path, would like to see some more quickness to hands through the hitting zone, works the middle of the field to pull side, needs to get stronger for better pop off of the barrel. Good student.
