Cooper Rust is a 2019 MIF/OF, RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Sandy, UT who attends Juan Diego Catholic. Medium frame with lean build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.44 seconds. Switch-hitter, hands start low from right side, line drive swing plane with compact bat speed, shifts well, shows solid barrel feel out front with whole-field approach; collapses a bit from left side and hits off backside, pull-side approach with some pop in that direction when squared up. Worked out in the infielder, light on feet with good footwork, fields cleanly with soft hands and has quick transfer, arm strength clocked up to 82 mph across the diamond. Also pitched, compact arm stroke to high three quarters slot, opens up and tends to gate hip through landing, fastball worked 79-82 mph with some arm side run. Worked in curveball with tight spin and sharpness, also showed changeup. Did a good job throwing strikes. Very good student.
